Style: Magical Day!

Sweater: J. Crew Factory, Shirt: J. Crew Factory, Jeans: American Eagle, Bag: Fossil (Similar), Bracelet: Pandora, Shoes: Target (Similar)

This past weekend, a local college and its surrounding town, held a Harry Potter themed festival of sorts. Lots of local stores set up booths or made special treats to participate. There was also a Quidditch tournament on the campus and loads of people dressed up in costume. While I did not have an HP costume to wear, I did manage to rock some Gryffindor red.

More pictures of the day behind the cut!

Style: Pastel Lace

Top: J. Crew Factory (Not Available Online Yet) . Necklace: J. Crew Factory,

It's no secret that I adore wearing lace tops (providing that they aren't itchy). When I saw this shirt, I fell in love with the color, pattern, and feminine scallop details. I feel pretty wearing it and love that I can dress it up or down. I wore it with these skimmer pants to school and changed to jeans for my second job.

Style: Ready For Fall

Sunglasses: Target, Necklace: J. Crew Factory, Cardigan: Gap Outlet (Similar),
Shirt: J. Crew Factory, Bag: Fossil, Jeans: American Eagle, Shoes: J. Crew Factory

If you couldn't already tell by the title of this post, I am over summer and ready for fall. I am ready for pumpkins, changing leaves, and cooler weather.

So despite the weather still being hot, I decided to dress for the fall weather anyways. I used work as an excuse, since we have to layer up and follow a certain dress code anyway.

I am looking forward to doing a wardrobe re-boot this fall so be prepared to see some changes!

Style: Pops of Pastel

Shoes: Frye
Bag: Fossil

Lately, my two younger brothers and I have been setting some time aside each week to go out and do something together. It is nice to spend time with them while they are on vacation from school. Today, we went to see a movie together (Hence the long pants. It gets too chilly in those theaters).

Bracelet: Kate Spade, Nails: Essie 'First Timer'

I am loving this top that I got on sale. I know I will get a ton of use out of it once school is back in session. I'm going to try and find a nice colored cardigan or blazer to wear overtop of it for work. For now, I think it looks great with subtle pops of pastel.

Style: Pop of Teal

Tee: Target
Shoes: Target
Bag: Fossil

This was a sort of lazy-day outfit. Slouchy tee and comfy jeans. I spent the day going on a photography, picture-taking adventure. The weather was too nice not to get outside for a bit.

I wore my new essie nail polish for a little pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit. I guess I've really been liking pops of teal lately.

Style: Casual Wednesday

Shirt: Gap Outlet
Jeans: American Eagle (On Sale Now!)
Flats: Gap Outlet
Bracelet: Pandora

This past week at work has been a "dress down week" in honor of teacher appreciation week. I didn't dress down the entire week, but I decided to on Wednesday, just to break up the week a bit. I tried to wear a nicer top and finished the look with some fun flats.

Also, I got my haircut this past week. I'm loving that it looks all nice and neat again!

Style: Simple Sunday

 T-Shirt: Target
Shoes: Target

Even though my outfit today is pretty simple, the day itself wasn't. I went with my family to a college open house for my brother. It was nice being back on a college campus, but it did make me miss being at school. I realize this is my second outfit in a row with the leopard/stripe combo but I am really liking it at the moment!

Some layered necklaces, both from American Eagle

It was gorgeous outside today, warm enough to wear a t-shirt, with no extra layers thrown on top. Hope everyone managed to get out and enjoy their weekend!

Style: Nautical Stripes + Leopard Print

Shoes: Target
Bracelet: Pandora
Bag: Fossil

Today mainly consisted of going to a birthday party for my friend's son. It was at a fire station. We got to go around the block in the fire truck, which was pretty neat. I went for something conservative, since there were kids, but still fun with the mixed prints. This is a look I've wanted to try out for awhile, but was waiting to find the shoes. I seriously have been looking for leopard smoking flats since last fall, and I finally caved and simply ordered ones from Target. I'm glad I did. The pictures don't really do them justice; I think they look a lot more expensive than just $20. I'm super happy with them, and even though they might be considered a "fall" shoe, I will probably wear them into the summertime.

What are some things that you wear year-round, regardless of the season?

Style: Photography Field Trip

Cardigan: Gap Outlet
T-Shirt: American Eagle

Yesterday my photography class took a day trip to Valley Forge National Park. We had free range to walk around the park and take pictures of what we liked. I even learned a few interesting facts while I was there!

This is my favorite shot of the day. I love how his blue feathers pop! I will post the rest of the pictures at the end of the month for my monthly snapshot post.

Style: Lace and Chambray

Chambray Shirt: Madewell
Lace Shirt: American Eagle
Jeans: Thrifted
Flats: Frye
Bag: Fossil

Today was just a simple girls day out: lunch and some shopping (although we didn't actually but anything). Emma and I went to a restaurant that we had been planning to check out for awhile but hadn't had the chance to.

The restaurant is called The Melt Down  and is a grilled cheese themed eatery. Almost everything on the menu is grilled cheese, with the exception of some soups and salads. I stuck with the classic and got a plain grilled cheese sandwich.

They also had some neat flavored fountain drinks, like watermelon and mango. I had cherry, and as you can see by my empty cup, it was yummy!

After lunch, we walked around the town a bit and checked out some of the shops and things to do. We went into an Anthropology, which was my first time in that store. I love discovering new stores and new places to visit. They had lots of cute plates, teacups, and general kitchen things. We also found a farmer's market and a cute gardening store/cafe. There were a lot more places to see in that area and I'm sure I will head back sometime!

5 Favorites For Spring

From Left to Right: Fossil Bag, Lavanilla Roller Ball Perfume, Essie Nail Polish, American Eagle Scarf, MAC lipstick and MAC lipglass
Since spring weather is (hopefully) right around the corner, I thought I would pick out some of my favorite items for spring. It's cliche but I tend to go for the pastels and florals for the springtime. Nothing innovative, but I still think they're pretty nonetheless.

Style: Simple Details

Cardigan: Gap Outlet
Bag: Fossil
Shoes: Bass
Bracelet: Pandora

Yes I have changed around the layout and name of my blog. I never was really happy with the name or layout to begin with, but never got around to fixing it. I'm still not 100% sure I'm satisfied, so expect some more tweaking and changes. Here is the current URL. I may also play around with the format of these posts.

Anyway, this outfit was worn on a casual Friday to work, followed by a night at the movies, going to eat, and playing laser tag and at the arcade with some friends. I had never played laser tag before. It was a lot of fun!

I liked the loafer style details and bows on these flats
I love the buttons on this cardigan
Faux peter pan collar

Style: Double Dots

 Cardigan: Gap
Top: Target
Jeans: American Eagle
Flats: Gap
Bag: Fossil

Today, I spent most of the afternoon hanging out and catching up with one of my friends from school. We met up for lunch and a movie, then walked over to the local book store. I decided for a comfy dot-on-dot look for today, paring my polka dot top with my polka dot shoes. I added the pastel bag for a subtle pop of color.

I am loving this bag. The color is so pretty, perfect for spring, and I got it on sale, which is always nice. I like too, that it can be worn as a clutch or you can add the strap and wear it like a shoulder or crossbody bag. It is very versatile and I will probably be using this (along with my other fossil bag which I also love) as my spring/summer purse. Fossil is slowly becoming my favorite bag designer. Their bags are durable, come in unique designs and colors, and have fun little details on them

I ended up leaving the bookstore with Pulse by Patrick Carman. I recently finished the first book in the Divergent series and was looking for something new to read. While I enjoyed Divergent, it wasn't my favorite book I've ever read and I did not feel the need to dive right into the second book. This book sounded interesting and seems to be following the trend of futuristic dystopian society books (which I like, although no book can fill the void of The Hunger Games). We shall see how it goes!

Thoughts from anyone who has read this?

For Valentine's Day I simple went out with a few good friends. We went out to dinner then took a short walk. I thought it was a nice way to spend Valentine's Day! :)

What did you do for Valentine's Day? Did you go out with your SO or out with friends?

Style: Warm Bodies

Cardigan: Gap
Tank: American Eagle
Jeans: Thrifted
Bag: Fossil
Flats: Gap

This past weekend I went to see the movie Warm Bodies. I LOVED it. I watch The Walking Dead and have played a few zombie video games, so I was excited to see this movie. I thought it was cute and funny but not sickeningly sweet.

Last weekend I did some serious shopping for my new job as a teaching assistant. I decided to give some of my teacher clothes a test run. Looking back at the photo, I realize I was dressed pretty prim and proper for a zombie flick.

Polka dot flats
I thought redish lipstick would add a nice pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit and it would be fun for a zombie flick. This color is bareminerals lipcolor in strawberry daiquiri.

Warm Bodies is the first movie I've seen in theaters in 2013. What movies have you seen or are looking forward to this year?

Style: Comedy Show

Top: Target
Cardigan: Gap
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Target
Scarf: American Eagle

I wore this to a comedy show that I went to with my parents and my aunt. We went to see one of my all time favorite comedians, Lewis Black.

This was the second time I had seen him live and I enjoyed it just as much this time around. I used to go to comedy shows a lot when I was at school, so this was a nice treat to be able to go again. I could not stop laughing!

Style: 2013 Movie Bucket List

Top: Target
Cardigan: Old Navy
Jeans: American Eagle
Flats: Gap
Bag: Fossil

Sunday I went to see Les Miserables. Going to the movies got me thinking about all the new movies coming out in 2013 that I am looking forward to seeing. I decided to make a list, a sort of "movie bucket list" for the year. I am not certain that I will see all of them and I'm sure there will be some movies that I go see that are not on the list, but as of now these are movies that sound interesting to me.

Gangster Squad
Struck By Lightening
Warm Bodies
Jack The Giant Slayer
The Host
Iron Man 3
The Great Gatsby
Star Trek Into Darkness
EPIC
Monsters University
Despicable Me 2
The Wolverine
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones
Thor: The Dark Worlds
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Anchorman: The Legend Continues

Style: Casual Christmas

Sweater: American Eagle
Jeans: American Eagle
Flats: Frye
Hair Pin: Forever 21

This was my outfit from Christmas. Christmas, much like Thanksgiving, is very casual at my house. We don't dress to the nines or anything since it is just my parents, my brothers, and my aunt. I went for something comfy, yet festive. I also added an extra holiday touch with a red bow hair pin.

I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday!

Style: MIxed Prints

Top: Target
Scarf: American Eagle
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Bass
Bag: Fossil

Sunday I went to a cookie exchange with my mom. I was excited to get a chance to wear my new boots and test out some style inspiration I found on Pinterest.

Image from Happily Grey

I had a shirt similar to this one and liked how the mixed prints looked, so I decided to give it a try. I had to use a different color scarf, but I feel like the cream color on mine ties in well with the cream stripes of the shirt. I kept everything else fairly neutral since I was already mixing two prints. A year ago, I never would have tried to mix these prints. I feel like I am a little more experimental with fashion than I used to be and more willing to try new things.

Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies

We made double chocolate chunk cookies for the exchange. To package them, we simply put them in ziplock baggies and tied holiday colored ribbons around the top. Simple, but festive.

More pictures and a recipe for the cookies after the cut!
