Style: Spring is in the Air!

Cardigan: Gap Outlet
Shirt: Ann Taylor
Skirt: Gap Outlet
Flats: Frye
Bag: Target

I haven't posted an outfit for work in awhile, mainly because I am not too adventurous with my business attire. I tend to stick to basic slacks and cardigans. However, the weather was too nice the other day not to wear a springy skirt. I went for full on spring style with a floral skirt, lace embellished top, and mint cardigan (which I have been wearing a ton). I got lots of compliments from both students and other teachers so I will be wearing this again on another warm day!

Style: Photography Field Trip

Cardigan: Gap Outlet
T-Shirt: American Eagle

Yesterday my photography class took a day trip to Valley Forge National Park. We had free range to walk around the park and take pictures of what we liked. I even learned a few interesting facts while I was there!

This is my favorite shot of the day. I love how his blue feathers pop! I will post the rest of the pictures at the end of the month for my monthly snapshot post.

Style: Simple Details

Cardigan: Gap Outlet
Bag: Fossil
Shoes: Bass
Bracelet: Pandora

Yes I have changed around the layout and name of my blog. I never was really happy with the name or layout to begin with, but never got around to fixing it. I'm still not 100% sure I'm satisfied, so expect some more tweaking and changes. Here is the current URL. I may also play around with the format of these posts.

Anyway, this outfit was worn on a casual Friday to work, followed by a night at the movies, going to eat, and playing laser tag and at the arcade with some friends. I had never played laser tag before. It was a lot of fun!

I liked the loafer style details and bows on these flats
I love the buttons on this cardigan
Faux peter pan collar

Style: Double Dots

 Cardigan: Gap
Top: Target
Jeans: American Eagle
Flats: Gap
Bag: Fossil

Today, I spent most of the afternoon hanging out and catching up with one of my friends from school. We met up for lunch and a movie, then walked over to the local book store. I decided for a comfy dot-on-dot look for today, paring my polka dot top with my polka dot shoes. I added the pastel bag for a subtle pop of color.

I am loving this bag. The color is so pretty, perfect for spring, and I got it on sale, which is always nice. I like too, that it can be worn as a clutch or you can add the strap and wear it like a shoulder or crossbody bag. It is very versatile and I will probably be using this (along with my other fossil bag which I also love) as my spring/summer purse. Fossil is slowly becoming my favorite bag designer. Their bags are durable, come in unique designs and colors, and have fun little details on them

I ended up leaving the bookstore with Pulse by Patrick Carman. I recently finished the first book in the Divergent series and was looking for something new to read. While I enjoyed Divergent, it wasn't my favorite book I've ever read and I did not feel the need to dive right into the second book. This book sounded interesting and seems to be following the trend of futuristic dystopian society books (which I like, although no book can fill the void of The Hunger Games). We shall see how it goes!

Thoughts from anyone who has read this?

Style: Warm Bodies

Cardigan: Gap
Tank: American Eagle
Jeans: Thrifted
Bag: Fossil
Flats: Gap

This past weekend I went to see the movie Warm Bodies. I LOVED it. I watch The Walking Dead and have played a few zombie video games, so I was excited to see this movie. I thought it was cute and funny but not sickeningly sweet.

Last weekend I did some serious shopping for my new job as a teaching assistant. I decided to give some of my teacher clothes a test run. Looking back at the photo, I realize I was dressed pretty prim and proper for a zombie flick.

Polka dot flats
I thought redish lipstick would add a nice pop of color to an otherwise neutral outfit and it would be fun for a zombie flick. This color is bareminerals lipcolor in strawberry daiquiri.

Warm Bodies is the first movie I've seen in theaters in 2013. What movies have you seen or are looking forward to this year?

Style: Comedy Show

Top: Target
Cardigan: Gap
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Target
Scarf: American Eagle

I wore this to a comedy show that I went to with my parents and my aunt. We went to see one of my all time favorite comedians, Lewis Black.

This was the second time I had seen him live and I enjoyed it just as much this time around. I used to go to comedy shows a lot when I was at school, so this was a nice treat to be able to go again. I could not stop laughing!

Style: 2013 Movie Bucket List

Top: Target
Cardigan: Old Navy
Jeans: American Eagle
Flats: Gap
Bag: Fossil

Sunday I went to see Les Miserables. Going to the movies got me thinking about all the new movies coming out in 2013 that I am looking forward to seeing. I decided to make a list, a sort of "movie bucket list" for the year. I am not certain that I will see all of them and I'm sure there will be some movies that I go see that are not on the list, but as of now these are movies that sound interesting to me.

Gangster Squad
Struck By Lightening
Warm Bodies
Jack The Giant Slayer
The Host
Iron Man 3
The Great Gatsby
Star Trek Into Darkness
EPIC
Monsters University
Despicable Me 2
The Wolverine
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones
Thor: The Dark Worlds
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
Anchorman: The Legend Continues

Style: Lunch with mom

 Cardigan: Old Navy
Top: Gap
Pants: Gap
Flats: Frye
Bag: Fossil

Today was my last day of our four-day weekend for the holiday. My mom wanted to go out to lunch since she actually has some time off. We don't get to spend too much time together, since we both work a lot. She wanted to take my brother and I out to lunch and run some errands. I thought it might be fun to get out and spend some more time with them.

I decided to wear my corduroy pants, since I hadn't worn them in awhile. They needed some more love! I paired them with a neutral top and a cardigan because it's getting colder here. I added two close up shots of the pants so you can see the color a little better.

I love going to lunch with my mom so we can catch up and chat. What are some ways you like to spend your spare time with your family? Do you go out to eat? Do you play games at home? Do you go to the movies?

Style: Out to Lunch

Top: Ann Taylor
Pants: Gap
Bag: Gap
Boots: Bass
Bracelet: Pandora

Saturday was a pretty simple, relaxing day. I spent the morning straightening up around the house and then met Emma for lunch to catch up. We ended up walking around the shopping center and stopping into different, random stores to look for things.

I am so glad I purchased these pants. I wasn't sure how I would like the colored pant trend (or cords for that matter) but I think they are fun and a good way to break away from plain, old jeans.

Style: Stripes + Red

Top: Target
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Gap
Necklace: Tiffany & Co.
Bag: Gap

Sunday was more a relaxing day and not quite as busy. I spent the morning running errands with my dad and then later on, I had some family down from New York. We watched football for a bit. Then my mom, aunt, and I all took a trip down to the mall. Unfortunately we got there only two hours before they closed so we didn't get to do much but I did see some things I might need to make a return trip for at Lush! We ended the day with chinese takeout, which always a good way to end the day with me!

Style: Girls Night

Top: Gap
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Frye
Bag: Kate Spade
Bracelet: Kate Spade

Saturday night was a girls night out. I met up with some friends from school and we had dinner and saw a movie. It was great being able to catch up and find out how they were doing since I don't get to see them very often.

I decided to change my outfit from earlier that day  for something a little dressier and more feminine. This sweater might just be my new favorite. Not only is it super girly, but it also is very soft and comfortable. It even has little bows on the sleeves!

Style: Homecoming 2012

Top: Target
Cardigan: Gap
Hat: Thrifted
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Bass
Bracelet: Pandora
Camera Bag: Tamrac

Almost every year, my family and I travel back to my dad's college for their homecoming football game. They always have special events for alumni. This year there was plenty of food, football and music to celebrate the weekend.

For my outfit to the game I wanted to wear something related to my dad's school. I chose this sweater because one of their school colors is gold. It was a little chilly out so I wore the cardigan overtop, which was nice because if it got too warm, I could simply take it off. I topped the outfit off with my little pale pink hat and boots. Overall a very cozy, yet school-spirited look!

Style: Artwork and Rita's

Top: Gap
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Frye
Bracelet: Pandora
Bag: Kate Spade

Today was a pretty relaxing Sunday. I spent the morning working on some stuff around the house and watching some TV. Then in the afternoon I met up with a Emma, a co-worker, and her son (who is in my class at work) and we all went to Rita's. He invited us to go earlier this week and so my co-worker set up a date and time. When we got there, he seemed very confused (probably because he's not used to seeing us outside of school), but we had tasty treats (I had a pumpkin milkshake. Tasty!) and then we all took a short walk. It was a nice little outing.

Then afterwards, I went over to Emma's house and we did this. I didn't get to finish mine, since I had to wait for it to dry, but I will post some pictures when it's done. I found the whole process pretty relaxing and therapeutic so I might try it again sometime.

Style: Coral Stripes

Top: Banana Republic
Shorts: Target
Sandals: Gap
Bag: Gap

Today was a running around, doing errands kind of day for my brother's back-to-school shopping. It was another hot, 80 degree day so I decided to stick to shorts and a t-shirt.

I bought this top at the beginning of summer. I needed more color in my wardrobe (after reorganizing I realized most of my wardrobe was neutrals). I think this color is perfect for summer so I'm trying to squeeze in wearing this shirt as much as I can before fall arrives.
