Style: Magical Day!

Sweater: J. Crew Factory, Shirt: J. Crew Factory, Jeans: American Eagle, Bag: Fossil (Similar), Bracelet: Pandora, Shoes: Target (Similar)

This past weekend, a local college and its surrounding town, held a Harry Potter themed festival of sorts. Lots of local stores set up booths or made special treats to participate. There was also a Quidditch tournament on the campus and loads of people dressed up in costume. While I did not have an HP costume to wear, I did manage to rock some Gryffindor red.

Style: Nautical

 T-Shirt: J. Crew Factory
Shorts: Target
Sandals: Gap Outlet (Similar)
Bag: Fossil (Similar)

I haven't done an outfit post in awhile. This past Saturday was super busy. I started with a class on making different kinds of ice cream and sorbets. We made peach-marscarpone ice cream, fresh mint chocolate chip ice cream, mango-honey sorbet, and a blackberry-cassis sorbet. My favorite was the peach-marscarpone (possible recipe to come in the future?). Then I ran some errands in the afternoon and ended the day hanging by the pool and having a cookout with friends.

Style: Wedding Weekend

Cardigan: Gap Outlet
Shoes: Gap Outlet
Bag: Fossil
Bracelet: Pandora

I spent this past weekend up near I went to school and had a sort of mini-reunion with my college friends at a wedding.

The wedding was held outside in a local park. I didn't get too many pictures because unfortunately it was raining out. They got married under a gazebo in front of a lake.

After the ceremony we headed over to the reception where we drank, danced, and of course, ate! It was nice to be able to catch up with some people that I hadn't seen in a year.

Congrats to the happy couple!

Style: Casual Wednesday

Shirt: Gap Outlet
Jeans: American Eagle (On Sale Now!)
Flats: Gap Outlet
Bracelet: Pandora

This past week at work has been a "dress down week" in honor of teacher appreciation week. I didn't dress down the entire week, but I decided to on Wednesday, just to break up the week a bit. I tried to wear a nicer top and finished the look with some fun flats.

Also, I got my haircut this past week. I'm loving that it looks all nice and neat again!

Style: Nautical Stripes + Leopard Print

Shoes: Target
Bracelet: Pandora
Bag: Fossil

Today mainly consisted of going to a birthday party for my friend's son. It was at a fire station. We got to go around the block in the fire truck, which was pretty neat. I went for something conservative, since there were kids, but still fun with the mixed prints. This is a look I've wanted to try out for awhile, but was waiting to find the shoes. I seriously have been looking for leopard smoking flats since last fall, and I finally caved and simply ordered ones from Target. I'm glad I did. The pictures don't really do them justice; I think they look a lot more expensive than just $20. I'm super happy with them, and even though they might be considered a "fall" shoe, I will probably wear them into the summertime.

What are some things that you wear year-round, regardless of the season?

Style: Simple Details

Cardigan: Gap Outlet
Bag: Fossil
Shoes: Bass
Bracelet: Pandora

Yes I have changed around the layout and name of my blog. I never was really happy with the name or layout to begin with, but never got around to fixing it. I'm still not 100% sure I'm satisfied, so expect some more tweaking and changes. Here is the current URL. I may also play around with the format of these posts.

Anyway, this outfit was worn on a casual Friday to work, followed by a night at the movies, going to eat, and playing laser tag and at the arcade with some friends. I had never played laser tag before. It was a lot of fun!

I liked the loafer style details and bows on these flats
I love the buttons on this cardigan

Style: SH

Shirt: Madewell
Jeans: Thrifted
Bag: Fossil
Shoes: Frye

This past weekend has been pretty busy. Saturday, I spent the morning with my mom. We went to Ulta and picked up a few things, then went to lunch. Then afterwards, I went to Emma's and we watched the BBC series Sherlock. I really enjoyed it, since I love mysteries. I finished the series this morning and highly recommend it. I can't wait for the next season.

Style: These Are a Few of my Favorite Things

Top: Target
Pants: Thrifted
Belt: Target
Shoes: Frye
Bag: Kate Spade
Bracelet: Pandora

Today was a day filled with some of my favorite things: cupcakes, shopping, and going to the movies. Since I was going shopping for christmas gifts,  I decided to wear something that seemed holiday-ish: Black and white with a splash of red. I saw this shirt at Target the other day and couldn't resist. It had peplum and polka dots so how could I walk away? (AND it was only $15) I added the belt to break up some of the pattern.

Under the mistletoe cupcake

What better way to start your day then with a cupcake? My favorite farmers market baker just opened up a cupcake shop so I decided to check it out before heading to do my holiday shopping. This was a peanut butter cake with chocolate mousse filling and a vanilla buttercream topped with a peanut butter kiss cookie! YUM!

After cupcakes I headed up to the mall to knock some things off my holiday shopping list. I got almost everything I need and am just missing a few items. I even found a little something I am thinking of getting myself.

Michael Kors Buckle Rings
I like the silver one and may or may not order it when I get my paycheck (didn't have my size in the store), but I am not sure yet. I saw this ring awhile ago on pinterest and pinned it because I thought it was different looking. It is not like any ring that I own and is girly but with a slight edge. I also like that it is simple, since I usually stick with simple, minimal jewelry.  Thoughts on the ring?

I ended the day by seeing Rise of the Guardians on the way home and oh my goodness it was adorable! I couldn't stop smiling during the whole thing. A great way to end a great day!

Style: Dinner and a Movie

Top: H&M
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Bass
Bracelet: Pandora
Bag: Fossil

I was really excited to meet some girls from school Saturday night and catch a movie. I hadn't seen them in so long, so it was nice to be able to catch up. We saw The Silver Lining Playbook. I enjoyed it, mainly because of Jennifer Lawrence. I really like her, not only as an actress, but as a person as well. I think she is a great role model and hilarious to boot.

What do you do for your "girls nights"? Comment and let me know!

Style: Happy Thanksgiving

Top: Aerie
Scarf: Fossil
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Bass
Bag: Fossil
Bracelet: Pandora

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Thanksgiving at my house has always been pretty casual. We usually spend the day watching the parade in the morning, while I help my mom get everything ready for dinner. Then we watch football in the afternoon while everything is cooking.

My mom also let me set up the table this year. I pulled out the good china, which we don't use very often, and found these pretty wine glasses. I think they work, even if you're not drinking wine! I also found this little pumpkin decoration on a shelf in another room. I think it looks cute at the centerpiece for the table!

Even though our Thanksgiving is not a fancy affair, I still like to look somewhat presentable. I decided to wear my new shirt from Aerie that I bought for my birthday (when I got this sweater). I also decided to put my birthday presents to good use.

I am super excited about the Fossil bag, which was a gift from my parents. I will be using it a lot, so prepared to see it in almost every style post. My mom also got me the scarf to go with the bag. She said she saw it in the store and thought it looked like me. I love all the colors! My aunt, who knows all about my love for pandora beads, got me the leather pandora bracelet to match the bag.

I am thankful for my friends and family, and that I get to spend the day cooking and eating a delicious meal! What are you thankful for?

Style: Out to Lunch

Top: Ann Taylor
Pants: Gap
Bag: Gap
Boots: Bass
Bracelet: Pandora

Saturday was a pretty simple, relaxing day. I spent the morning straightening up around the house and then met Emma for lunch to catch up. We ended up walking around the shopping center and stopping into different, random stores to look for things.

I am so glad I purchased these pants. I wasn't sure how I would like the colored pant trend (or cords for that matter) but I think they are fun and a good way to break away from plain, old jeans.

Style: All Neutral

Top: H&M
Jeans: American Eagle
Bag: Fossil
Flats: Frye
Bracelet: Pandora

Today was a lazy/cleaning day at home. I'm housesitting with my brother and wanted the place to be clean when my family got home today. I wore a tank top and jeans for most of the day, since I was just hanging around the house. When they got home, my parents decided to thank us by taking us out to dinner. We went to my favorite Italian restaurant.

I threw this sweater on over my tank top to make myself a little more presentable. I went for pretty neutral tones. I have mentioned before that this is a great lazy shirt. I also like that it can be dressed up. I don't know about you but I like to be comfy when I go out to eat. You are sitting for long periods of time and sometimes have to sit for awhile with a full belly. Being comfy just makes things easier!

Style: Homecoming 2012

Top: Target
Cardigan: Gap
Hat: Thrifted
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Bass
Bracelet: Pandora
Camera Bag: Tamrac

Almost every year, my family and I travel back to my dad's college for their homecoming football game. They always have special events for alumni. This year there was plenty of food, football and music to celebrate the weekend.

For my outfit to the game I wanted to wear something related to my dad's school. I chose this sweater because one of their school colors is gold. It was a little chilly out so I wore the cardigan overtop, which was nice because if it got too warm, I could simply take it off. I topped the outfit off with my little pale pink hat and boots. Overall a very cozy, yet school-spirited look!

Style: Artwork and Rita's

Top: Gap
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Frye
Bracelet: Pandora
Bag: Kate Spade

Today was a pretty relaxing Sunday. I spent the morning working on some stuff around the house and watching some TV. Then in the afternoon I met up with a Emma, a co-worker, and her son (who is in my class at work) and we all went to Rita's. He invited us to go earlier this week and so my co-worker set up a date and time. When we got there, he seemed very confused (probably because he's not used to seeing us outside of school), but we had tasty treats (I had a pumpkin milkshake. Tasty!) and then we all took a short walk. It was a nice little outing.

Then afterwards, I went over to Emma's house and we did this. I didn't get to finish mine, since I had to wait for it to dry, but I will post some pictures when it's done. I found the whole process pretty relaxing and therapeutic so I might try it again sometime.

Style: Busy Saturday

Top: Calvin Klein (Marshall's)
Jeans: American Eagle
Bag: Fossil
Boots: Bass
Bracelet: Pandora

Today is going to be a pretty busy, running-around kinda day (hence why I'm posting this now rather than later today or tonight). This morning I went over to check out a yard sale Emma and her family were having. They were selling lots of old furniture, books, clothes, and shoes. I scored this cute little hat for a quarter (Thanks Emma)!

I've always liked the look of beanies and tried them on time and time again but they never seemed to work for me. I think it was my long hair; it made them sit funny on my head. However, I have not tried one on since getting my hair cut short and I thought it looked pretty cute! I like that I can tuck my hair into it, wear it straight, or off to the side. I have a lot of sweaters and coats that will go with this color too!

I just got back from checking that out, and now my family and I are going up to the mall for a bit and then I am babysitting later on tonight. Busy, busy!
