Lush Things

About 2 years ago, I discovered there was a Lush store at my local mall, and I have been hooked ever since! I have a small list of stores that I tend to visit when I am there and Lush is at the top of the list. Even if they don't have new products in or have not restocked, I still love to go look around and test new things out. Over the years, I've picked up and tried out a few things that I really love. The other day, I was doing a little spring cleaning and came across some empty lush pots I'd been saving for their recycling policy. I thought I'd gather them all up and do a little post/review!

Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask
The first 'fresh face' mask I ever bought from Lush. This one is made with blueberries and calamine and is designed to help soothe irritated skin. I would use this anytime I felt a breakout or had any redness on my face. This cleared things right up and left my skin feeling soft, not stripped. My only complaint about these are the expiration dates. These don't last very long (a week, 2 weeks tops) before they expire. Considering I only use a face mask 1-2 times a week, it's nearly impossible to use up the entire thing. I would repurchase this but I am curious about trying some of the other Lush face masks.

Mask of Magnaminty
The 'Mask of Magnaminty' is described as a pepperminty deep-cleansing mask that can be used on both your face and your back. It is supposed to help clear out pores, soothe skin, and help with back-acne. The fresh peppermint gives this mask that deep-cleaning, tingly feeling. This also has tiny beads in it to exfoliate. I would absolutely repurchase this but only in the small size (again, because of the expiration dates). Every time I go into Lush, they only seem to have the big pots. Guess I will just have to keep checking...

Ultrabland Cleanser
This is the second time I've purchased the Ultrabland cleanser. Ultrabland is a slightly waxy cleansing balm. I use this as a makeup remover at night, and then wash my face with another cleanser. It does a good job getting all my makeup off and doesn't irritate my skin at all.

Tea Tree Toner Water
This was actually a hand-me-down from a friend. When I mentioned to her that I wanted to try the Tea Tree Toner Water, she said that she had used it and found it too drying on her skin. My skin is more combination oily and I find that it works well with my skin type. I notice that when I use this, my skin tone looks more even and my blemishes look less angry and irritated. I will most-definitely be purchasing this when I finish this bottle up!

Roots Hair Treatment
I already have a full review of this here. 'Roots' is a pepperminty hair treatment designed for people with 'thine' (thin/fine) hair. I'm definitely going to pick this up when it starts getting hotter out!

Hottie Massage Bar
My very first Lush purchase, and as you can see it is well-loved. This massage bar comes with ridges and bumps, designed to help soothe achey, tired muscles. I bought this more for the smell, than the massaging properties. It has a nice balance of spicy-sweet smells and the oils this create do really feel wonderful on sore muscles. Two warnings though: the bumps do fade quickly and if you use too much of this it can get a bit greasy feeling.

The Olive Branch Shower Gel
I mentioned this guy in my last monthly favorites post, so I won't go on about it too much. Again, I bought this mainly for the delicious smell: warm, a bit musky, and a slight hint of citrus.

What are your favorite products from Lush?

  1. I am glad to hear you like the tea tree spray! I actually just started using the Sea Salt Scrub (from the gift Riss and Rachael gave me) and I love it. It smells amazing and made my skin feel all nice and refreshed.
