I've decided to throw a new type of post into the mix this year. In addition to my monthly snapshot posts, where I just post random photos from the past month, I'd like to do a favorites post and talk about the things I've been loving this month. I decided to break it down into three categories: fashion, beauty, and random and pick one or two things in each that I've have worn, used, or been loving a lot this month. The fashion section will include all things clothes, shoes, and accessories. Beauty will be makeup, body and skincare items. The random category can be anything I've been liking that doesn't fit in the other two. It will most likely be books, food, TV shows, movies, games, ect.
Fashion:
My favorite fashion item from this past month, hands down, is this tweed dress from Madewell. I bought it on sale to wear to a few Christmas parties, and it has ended up in my wardrobe rotation for work. I like wearing it with black tights, boots, and a cardigan.
A close second are these Michael Kors heels. These are my first "big girl" shoes. I didn't have a pair of classic pumps in my wardrobe, and thought these would be a nice addition since I have a lot of navy and gray. I love the texture of the leather and the little gold detail on the back.
Beauty:
First favorite for beauty is the Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm. I have mentioned this before on here and it really is worth the hype. It is the best lip balm I have ever tried and has saved my extremely dry, chapped lips this winter. You don't need to use a ton of product, so it should last quite some time. Definitely worth the price!
I have been wearing this blush almost everyday since I got it for Christmas. 'Exposed' is a nice neutral blush, that's not too brown but not too pink. It adds a natural, matte flush of color, while defining your cheekbones at the same time. I can slap this on in the morning and not worry about it looking too heavy or bright and it literally goes with any eye/lip combo. Perfection.
Random:
This month I have been read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. I finished it in 3 days and was reading it every spare moment I had, which is a sign that I really love a book. It kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next. I highly recommend this one, especially if you like thrillers or mystery novels.
My last favorite is the candle from Bath and Body Works. I like switching out my candles each season, and I got this as a winter scent. It smells like thin mints so how could you go wrong?
