Beauty: Makeup Organization

Pillow: Target End Table: Yard Sale, Similar
I recently bought some things to reorganize my makeup. I was tired of having everything stored in one bag. It made it difficult to find things in the morning and made getting ready take longer than necessary. I don't have a huge collection of makeup, but it is still growing. This stand works well for my small sized collection and I think it will help keep me from buying more than I can fit in the drawers.

This is the overall setup everything. Basically I open up the curtains to get natural light when I do my makeup and I pull out that pillow to sit on so I'm a bit more comfortable. I've included photos of each section and will provide a brief explanation of how I organized things. I will also include where I got some of the items I used for organizing everything.

Bin: Target, Similar  Polka Dot Bag: Forever 21, Similar
This is the bin that's on the bottom shelf of the table. I use this to store my palettes and nail polish. I use these palettes everyday, so this makes them easy to access. My nail polish is divided into two separate bags, brights/colors in one and neutrals in another.

This is the inside of the drawer. I lined the bottom of the drawer with pages from magazines, which you can't really see, to keep it from getting too dirty. The dividers are actually a shoebox. I had a hard time finding boxes or containers that would fit in this drawer, but these fit perfectly. I might swap them out when I find something else, but for now they work just fine. The left compartment is kind of a miscellaneous bin: lip balm, brow kit, sharpener, sponges, and a bunch of random makeup samples. The bin on the right is all my face products: foundation and eye primers, foundation, powder, and concealers.

Mirror: Walmart, Candle: Root, Container: Target, Similar, Placemat: Target
On top of the table, I have a small three-drawer container to hold the rest of my makeup. I also have a dual-sided makeup mirror. I added a little candle, which I love the smell of.  Lastly, I put a placemat underneath everything, just to keep the table clean.

Cups: Goodwill
On top of the 3 drawer-container, I a cup for my brushes and a cup for my mascara and eye pencils. I also like to keep the current nail polish I am wearing on top, in case I need to touch it up.

Lastly, I thought I would just show you what products I keep inside the drawers and I how I have them separated. In the top drawer, I keep all my lipsticks, lip butters, and lipglosses. In the middle drawer I keep any single eyeshadows or eyeshadow pots (basically and eyeshadows that are not in a palette). The bottom drawer holds all my blushes and bronzers.

As I said up top, my collection is still growing but I'm hoping that this system will keep it from getting too large and out of control. I hope reading through this helped give you some ideas on how you may want to organize your makeup!
