For one of the treats, Emma made a marshmallow caramel popcorn, because what movie related event would be complete without popcorn?
We also made mini red velvet (for the red carpet) cupcakes with gold-tinted (for the oscar statue) cream cheese frosting. The cupcakes were a simple red velvet cake box mix, but the icing was Emma's from scratch recipe. Very tasty!
Behind the cut are my top 5 oscar red carpet looks. Did you watch the oscars this year? If so, did you do anything special? What did you think of the show? What were your favorite red carpet looks?
Jennifer Lawrence in Christian Dior Spring 2013 couture with Chopard jewelry and a Roger Vivier clutch |
This look seems to be getting a lot of mixed reviews. Some people thought it was pretty, others thought it looked too bridal (I'm guessing because of the color). I thought she looked beautiful and like an oscar winner should. Loved the necklace she draped down the back.
Charlize Theron in Dior couture with Harry Winston jewelry |
She looked AMAZING, fierce, and super sleek. I thought this almost looked robotic and she can totally pull off the "ice queen" look. Her hair looks great too, love the new short cut.
Jessica Chastain in custom Armani Privé with Harry Winston jewelry. |
I thought this, like Jennifer Lawrence, was very soft and pretty. I love the old hollywood glamour feeling of this, right down to the soft waves and red lips. My only complaint is that I think the color washes her out.
Amanda Seyfried in Alexander McQueen |
Another very soft, pretty look. I love the pale lilac color (maybe not so much with her skin tone, I feel like this washes her out a bit) and the gold dragonfly details. In my opinion, McQueen rarely does wrong.
And finally...
Quvenzhane Wallis in Giorgio Armani and her signature puppy purse. |
How adorable does she look?? Love that her puppy purse has a tiara. She looks like a proper little nine year old should!
