Beauty: Makeup of the Day #5

This is how I've been doing my makeup for the past week or so: Clear-looking skin, bare eyes, flushed cheeks and a berry lip. I have had this foundation for about a week and I can already say, without a doubt, that I love it! I had a sample of this laying around in my makeup drawer, and I love the sample so much I went out and bought the full size. This is my first high-end foundation and after using this the past couple days, I can't see using anything else. The finish and lasting power of this stuff is just amazing and, to top it all off, it literally feels like you aren't wearing any makeup.

To start off, I used a bit of foundation, only where I really needed it. I really only need to use like 1/2 a pump of this stuff. I can't rave about it enough! I've found that applying it with my fingers works best and then blend it in using a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush. Then, I primed my eyes with the ELF Cover Stick and added a bit around my nose, just because that's always where foundation fades on me first.

I kept my eyes pretty bare. I mixed the colors 'Faint' and 'Naked 2' in the Naked Basics and applied them in the crease using my MAC 217 brush. This creates a pretty nude-smokey effect, without looking heavy at all. I used the same colors to fill in my brows. Then I lined my eyes with my usual 'stubborn brown' liner and added a coat of mascara.

I highlighted and concealed under the eyes using my 'Fake Up' Concealer and then set everything using Rimmel's Stay Matte powder in 'Translucent'. For blush I just dabbed on a bit of Stila's 'Peony' onto the apples of my cheeks and blended it upward using my finger. Finally, for lips I used my Revlon lip butter in the shade 'Sugar Plum' for a light, berry-plum lip color.
