Nutella Brownies

My brother came home from college this past weekend, so I decided to bake some brownies for him. I found this recipe on Pinterest, and since we had just bought a new jar of Nutella, I decided to give it a try. They turned out really good. They were very chewy and fudgy, and the Nutella was not overpowering in the slightest.

1/2 cup (125 ml) unbleached all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp (1 ml) salt
2 eggs
1 cup (250 ml) Nutella
1/2 cup (125 ml) brown sugar
1 tsp(5 ml) vanilla extract
1/2 cup (125 ml) melted unsalted butter, cooled slightly

1. Preheat oven to 325°F (170°C). Line the bottom of a 8 inch* (2o cm) square pan with parchment paper and butter the sides (I just used a nonstick spray). I used a 10 inch one because that's all I had on hand. Melt your butter and set aside to cool.

2. In a small bowl, combine the flour and salt. Set aside.

3. In a mixing bowl, combine the eggs, nutella, brown sugar and vanilla. Mix until smooth.

4. Alternate adding the flour mixture and melted butter into the Nutella mixture. Mix until smooth inbetween each addition.

5. Transfer the batter to the pan and spread evenly.

6. Bake until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out with a few crumbs attached (not completely clean), 35 to 40 minutes.

7. Cool in the pan for about 2 hours. Unmould and cut into squares.

BONUS: Add vanilla ice cream or froyo (or whatever flavor you prefer) and make a tasty homemade ice cream sandwich. Delish!
